2022 NAACP Image Awards: 5 of the Hottest Musical Performances From ‘Outstanding Duo, Group Collaboration’ Nominee Doja Cat
It wasn’t too long ago when Doja Cat became a viral sensation after creating the hilarious 2020 single “Mooo!” However, Doja’s interest in the entertainment industry started in her teens as she would routinely release music on the music platform SoundCloud before her life-changing online moment.
She’s only 26-years-old but is one of the hardest people in the business. Her efforts and contributions to the music industry earned her several nominations over the years, including one at the 53rd Annual NAACP Image Awards, which are set to take place on Saturday, February 26, hosted by Anthony Anderson.
As we gear up for what’s expected to be another fantastic night honoring outstanding performances in film, television, theater, music, and literature, here are five of the hottest musical performance from this year’s “Outstanding Duo, Group Collaboration” Nominee Doja Cat.
“Kiss Me More ft. SZA Live at Billboard Music Awards 2021”
Doja raised the bar for award show performances, as seen in her set at the 2021 Billboard Music Award, where she and SZA performed their duet “Kiss Me More.” Doja’s live performances are a visual joyride with her dazzling set design, high-energy choreography, and all-around storytelling. A musical theatre kid, it’s clear Doja has mastered her early teachings.
"Woman" Live from ACL Music Festival
On October 3, Doja performed an energy-packed medley of her singles at the Austin City Limits Music Festival, including an unforgettable performance of her afrobeat driven track “Woman” from her third studio album Planet Her.
“Say So”
Doja Cat’s versatility shines front and center during a performance of her hit single “Say So” at the 2020 MTV European Music Awards. Doja put a grunge-inspired spin to the track, earning her two Grammy nominations, including Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.
