Meek Mill Catches Heat After Shouting ‘Free Tory Lanez’ During Rolling Loud Portugal Performance

The show of support came amid a performance of ‘Litty.’

Fans online are unhappy with Meek Mill after the Philly emcee called for the release of fellow rapper Tory Lanez during his recent headline Rolling Loud performance in Portugal.

While performing his 2016 single “Litty,” which features the imprisoned Canadian artist, Meek shouted “Free Tory Lanez” to a sea of screaming fans. In a clip captured by concertgoers, fans did not appear too moved by the support.

However, online critics quickly took to their social media platforms, calling out the “Going Bad” rapper. Many deemed the behavior on brand for Meek, including one Twitter user who wrote, “well we been knew he was a clown so this was to be expected.”

The criticisms did not let up as another person added: “Not surprised, you are what you eat, who you date, and who you surround yourself around.”

It’s the latest incident for Meek after he recently came under fire for defending YK Osiris, who was seen in a video forcing himself on rapper and reality star Sukihana.

Meanwhile, Tory, born Daystar Peterson, is facing up to 22 years and eight months in prison, as well as deportation, after being convicted on three felony charges, including assault with a semi-automatic handgun; carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle; and discharging a firearm with gross negligence. After many delays, the rapper is set to be sentenced on Aug 7.
