Rod Wave Dropped $25,000 Worth Of Free Gas In His Hometown After Gas Spike In Florida
If there’s one thing we all want someone to pay for, it’s definitely gas, and Rod Wave was his hometown’s superhero last week after he spent $25,000 on petroleum for his community after learning about the gas spike in St Petersburg, FL.
Just about a month ago, gas prices surged from $2.80 to $4.40 which prompted the musician to immediately give back to his community.
In an Instagram video, the rapper shared his take on the spike, saying gas prices are “high as f**k,” ultimately deciding to help drivers on Apr. 9 with a gas giveaway.
“April 9, I’m giving away $25,000 in free gas. So [on] April 9, 12 o’clock, pull up and get you a free full tank,” said the 22-year-old popular artist.
Wave’s mother, Charmaine Newsome, helped pump gas and organize volunteers, according to the Tampa Bay Times, with each individual receiving up to $50 in gas or what would equate to about 12 gallons.
