Steph Curry Was The Surprise Pickup Baller For Mistah F.A.B.’s Block Party In Oakland
The Golden State Warriors will begin play this coming season at the brand new Chase Center in San Francisco after playing in Oakland for 57 years.
“The Town,” as Oakland is referred to, is home to many Warriors players past and present. Playing for the residents of this community meant a lot to them, and Steph Curry is no different.
Curry was on hand this weekend at hip-hop legend Mistah F.A.B.’s annual block party at Linden Park. This was F.A.B.’s 14th edition of the block party, the rapper-turned-activist started the event with the goal of helping parents with the costs of sending kids to school.
Curry and his wife, Ayesha, mingled with the various attendees showing love and offering encouragement to the kids. Steph also did what he does best, play a little ball.
The superstar engaged in pickup games, one-on-one battles within the game and had a great time supporting The Town.
Multiple videos of Steph at the event have emerged.
Athletes are often chided (unfairly) for being selfish. Frankly, that’s a narrative that is overblown and false.
Guys like Steph Curry and many others are extremely generous of their time and resources.
F.A.B. was appreciative of the Currys and their support of the community. In an interview with KUTV, he said:
“It's about changing the narrative and reinventing the role models.”
Great to see Steph doing it one more time for The Town.
