Gilbert Arenas Is Coming for Laura Govan's Money Over Those Shady STD Claims

Things aren't looking good for the reality star.

Laura Govan has been ordered to appear in court, next week, in a case where a judge determined she defamed her ex, Gilbert Arenas, by claiming she contracted an STD from him.

According to Bossip, she will appear in LA County Court on April 14 to plead her case to the judge as to why she should not face additional charges. She will also testify as a part of a "judgment debtor examination," according to the report.

Additionally, she will be required to produce business receipts so the court can determine her wealth. Once this is done, they can figure out how she can efficiently pay the $110,000 judgment she owes Arenas.

This dates back to 2015 when Arenas sued Govan for leaking an email she sent him, accusing him of giving her STDs. The Basketball Wives star, however, failed to give up evidence to support her claims, including questions about her sex life and sexual partners. Due to this, a judge sided with the former Memphis Grizzlies player, ruling that her lack of evidence proved that she intentionally leaked the emails to defame him.

Currently, there is a threat in place by the judge to issue a warrant for Govan's arrest as she skipped a court date last month. It will remain in effect until the hearing, next week. If she fails to appear in court, the warrant will be issued.

"She's had second chances and third chances, and at the end of the day, we want her to make this right," Arenas's attorney, Michael Murphy, said.
