A Houston-area school district has let go the teacher responsible for giving students mock awards that read "most likely to become a terrorist" and “most likely to blend in with white people,” reported CBS News.

"We have concluded our investigation and the teacher responsible is no longer employed by the district,” The Channelview Independent School District said in a issued Tuesday.

Stacy Lockett, a former NFL cheerleader for the Houston Texans, was a teacher at Anthony Aguirre Junior High School. The mock awards were given in the school’s AVID program, a special program for college readiness.

In May, 13-year-old student Lizeth Villanueva revealed she was devastated when she received her “most likely to be a terrorist" award.

"She said that some people might get offended, but she doesn't really care about our feelings," Lizeth said of Lockett’s explanation of the awards.

Previously, the district had apologized for the "insensitive and offensive fake mock awards" and said that several teachers had received undisclosed discipline.

However, Sydney Caesar also received an award that made her cringe: "most likely to blend in with white people."

KRIV-TV reporter Lindsey Henry tweeted a photo of the award, which put the school district back in the news.
