Atlanta Man Arrested for Posing as Veneer Specialist

Brandon Dillard is also accused of training others in the craft.

A man who falsely claimed to be Atlanta’s top veneer specialist has been arrested for practicing dentistry and medicine without a license.

Brandon Dillard, owner of “A List Smiles Atlanta,” is now facing eight felony charges, including practicing dentistry and medicine without a license, as well as theft by deception, WSB-TV2 in Atlanta reported.

Dillard’s business, which has been operating since 2021, boasts over 157,000 Instagram followers. The company promoted veneer procedures through eye-catching social media posts, even offering contests and discounts. However, the Fulton County District Attorney’s office, alongside Atlanta police, raided the office after discovering Dillard’s illegal activities.

“If you went to this and you thought it was a dental office and you looked at the equipment, it appears to be legitimate. But that’s what the best fraudsters do,” Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis said.

Dillard was allegedly charging patients $5,500 for veneer procedures that legally can only be performed by licensed dentists in Georgia. However, he wasn’t just performing these illegal procedures but also profiting by offering training sessions to aspiring veneer specialists nationwide.

Charging over $6,000 per class, Dillard taught individuals how to perform the same unauthorized work. “Many, many people paid this defendant to receive training on how to do this illegal conduct,” Willis explained. I am not interested in prosecuting those persons. I am interested in them stopping this work and finding out who they are because they are also victims.”

The DA’s office is now calling on both patients and those trained by Dillard to come forward. While his trainees are currently considered victims, they could face criminal charges if they continue practicing without a license.

“They were enticing people to come in to take these classes so that you could get rich too. But you were getting rich doing something that’s completely illegal,” Willis added.

The DA has warned that improper dental practices, like Dillard’s, can cause severe harm and urged any victims to contact their office.
