Man Accused of Killing Bethune-Cookman Univ. Students Hangs Himself in Jail
A man in Miami apparently hung himself in a jail cell hours after being charged in the murder of two women and assaulting a third, the Orlando Sentinel reports. The victims were Timesha Carswell, 21, and Diona McDonald, 19. The third woman, Micah Parham, 21, was critically wounded.
York Zed Bodden, 27, fatally attacked the Bethune-Cookman University students after they asked him to move out of their apartment. Bodden opened fire on the women around 2:30 p.m. Thursday at an apartment complex in Daytona Beach.
"Please keep the loved ones of students Timesha 'Lisa' Floyd-Carswell and Diona McDonald in your immediate thoughts and prayers," the university wrote on their Facebook page after Bodden was arrested Friday.
He fled from the scene but was later apprehended by police that Friday. Bodden was charged with first-degree murder and aggravated assault.
