George Zimmerman wanted Kanye West, but he's going to get DMX instead. The troubled hip hop star has been named the opponent for Zimmerman's upcoming celebrity boxing match, TMZ reports.
Celebrity boxing promoter Damon Feldman told TMZ X is the lucky contender who will strap on boxing gloves to go three rounds with the man acquitted of murdering Trayvon Martin. The 43-year-old rapper was selected out of 15,000 applicants who responded to the open challenge. It's not clear why DMX was chosen over fellow hip hop artist Game, who made it known he wanted to beat the f*** out of Zimmerman.
Though Zimmerman reportedly wanted to box Kanye West, he'll have to deal with DMX who comes into the match harboring some real contempt for his opponent. X previously told TMZ what he planned to do to the 30-year-old Florida native.
"I am going to beat the living f**k out him … I am breaking every rule in boxing to make sure I f**k him right up." He even threatened to urinate on Zimmerman.
The time and place for the bout will be announced at a press conference next week.
