Donald Glover To Star In Spider-Man Movie Based On Villain Hypno-Hustler
Donald Glover is headed back into the Spider-Man universe and will star in and produce an upcoming movie revolving around one of Spider-Man’s villains, Hypno-Hustler. He will also produce the project.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Myles Murphy, the son of actor and comedian Eddie Murphy, is also on board to write the untitled project. The Hypno-Hustler villain is a product of the disco music scene and first appeared in Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man No. 24 in 1978, the outlet notes. The villain, whose real name is Antoine Delsoin, is the leader of a band called the Mercy Killers and uses his instruments to hypnotize the audience before he robs them.
Glover previously voiced Spider-Man/Miles Morales in the Disney XD series Ultimate Spider-Man in 2015 and also made a brief appearance in Tom Hollands’ Spider-Man: Homecoming.
It’s unclear how far along in development the new Spider-Man project is but a new Spider-Man franchise movie, Kraven the Hunter, is set to release on Oct. 6, 2023. Other projects, Madame Web and Spider-Woman, are also in the works.
