Eva Marcille Has Words After Getting Accused Of Taking A Swipe At Darker-Skinned Black People
The currently airing 11th season of the Real Housewives of Atlanta has introduced some new mainstays, one being America's Next Top Model winner Eva Marcille.
Since becoming an official peach-holder, Marcille has upped her "shade game," as some viewers would call it, but it appears as one of her most recent attempts proved to be more offensive than amusing.
During last Sunday night's episode of the reality series, the model and mother of two revisited her season 10 beef with friend to the show Shamea Morton who spread rumors that Marcille was once in a romantic relationship with Missy Elliott.
A scene from the episode saw Marcille apparently throw some shade Morton's way, when NeNe Leakes pointed out, "Shamea is [Kandi's] friend," with Porsha Williams adding, "You don't know her yet."
Eva's response: "I don't, but Blaque is cute," referencing new cast member Shamari DeVoe's girl group. "She's Black, she's snatched, she's married. Shamea's Black too. She ain't Blaque with a 'q.'"
Kandi Burruss, clearly bothered by her comment, called her out, stressing, "You are being shady as f**k right now," and further explaining in her confessional clip that she hoped her seemingly questionable comment did not run any deeper.
"What did you mean by 'Shamea is Black, but not with a 'q?'" she asked. "I'm hoping she did not mean because she's dark-skinned. I did not like that. I like you, but I did not like that."
Upon seeing the episode, Marcille took to Instagram to clear her name, firmly denying that her comments were, in any way, made in reference to anyone's complexion.
"Saying she's not black with the [sic] a Q clearly means she's not in a singing group," she clarified. "Never in 1 million years was I talking about skin color and how Kandi got that from what I said I'm still confused."

This clearly was just a simple misunderstanding.
