Heavy D's Family Wants 13-Year-Old Daughter to Inherit Estate

Family files paperwork to ensure teen's future.

The family of Heavy D wants to make sure that his daughter receives all of the money in his estate.
Heavy (born Dwight Errington Myers) passed away in 2011 and now his brother Floyd is taking action to maintain control of the funds — but not for himself. Instead, he will only harbor the inheritance until the child is of age, TMZ reports.
Since the daughter is only 13, Floyd filed legal documents to help ensure the teen's financial future, a move which the entire family stands behind. "The family all wanted Floyd as that person to represent Dwight's estate," Heavy's mother Eulahlee Myers told TMZ.
With so much paperwork involved, Myers is confident that Floyd is perfect for the job. "Heavy's estate needs to be managed," she explained. "It cannot be self-managed or self-administered and it has to be court approved. Open bills, unfinished business, taxes and day-to-day decisions including future plans for his daughter all need to be done. This management needs someone who is capable, smart, honest and close to this family. "
Following his untimely death, all of Heavy's "personal belongings" have been moved to storage. His estate is estimed in the six-figure range.
The 44-year-old collapsed outside of his Beverly Hills home on November 8, 2011, and was pronounced dead at L.A.'s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. An autopsy report confirmed a pulmonary embolism as the cause of death.
