Kanye West Covers Billboard Power 100 Issue
No one man should have all that power, so said the man, Kanye West who covers Billboard's Power 100 issue alongside fellow Universal Music Group artist Lana Del Rey and UMG Chairman/CEO Lucian Grainge, who ranked No. 1 on the magazine's list of movers and shakers.
Grainge, who snagged the No. 2 spot on last year's list, oversees the careers of some of music's biggest stars including Iggy Azalea, Ariana Grande, Sam Smith, Taylor Swift, and, of course, Lana Del Rey and West.
"Lucian has such an extensive knowledge of music history, yet his eye is always on the future," the "Young and Beautiful" songstress said. "As artists, we're lucky he's at the helm."
Other music and media heavyweights featured on the coveted list include Roc Nation's Jay Brown (No. 30), Epic Records's L.A. Reid (No. 61) and BET's president of programming and Chairman/CEO Stephen Hill and Debra Lee (No. 84).
As for Mr. West, the rapper has a busy week ahead. After performing "ForFiveSeconds," his new collaboration with Rihanna and Paul McCartney, at the 2015 Grammys, the "Stronger" performer will headline the first-ever Roc City Classic event on Feb. 12 in New York City during NBA All-Star Weekend.
