Buffalo Mass Shooting Victims To Receive Profits From New Benny The Butcher Merch
East Side Buffalo native Benny The Butcher is aiding the fund for survivors of the May Buffalo Mass Shooting.
According to TMZ, the Griselda rapper and his Black Sopranos Family (BSF) team have partnered with designers Nolan and Kat Cartwright for a limited edition T-shirt release. 100% of profits made from the drop will go to the Buffalo Survivors Fund.
On the front of the shirt, it reads, “Pray for Buffalo, NY.” The back of the shirt reads, “In Loving Memory,” with all 10 victims’ names from the mass shooting.
The shirt retails for $40 and only 200 were made.
On Monday (June 6), Benny released a track called “Welcome To The States,” detailing the mass shootings going on in the U.S. and laying the lyrics over Kendrick Lamar’s “We Cry Together.”
On May 14, 18-year-old Payton Gendron entered the Tops Friendly Markets store with an assault rifle and began to open fire.
Gendron killed 10 Black people in an alleged racially-motivated attack. He was indicted by a grand jury on June 1 on a state domestic terrorism and hate crime charge. It brings about a mandatory life sentence in prison.
On June 2, Gendron pleaded not guilty to two dozen new charges in the attack.
