Here's How Colin Kaepernick And Girlfriend Nessa Shut Down Rumors He'll Stop Protesting For An NFL Job

"A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on."

CBS reporter Jason La Canfora recently spoke with Colin Kaepernick and reported Sunday that the quarterback plans on standing for the national anthem if given opportunity to play in the NFL again.

One problem, though ... Kaep never said that.

And he, along with his girlfriend, Hot 97 personality Nessa Diab, made that perfectly clear, shutting those rumored reports down swiftly.

La Canfora even clarified his original report.

Take a look at how it all unfolded yesterday.

  • Nessa wasn't having this report that Kaepernick would stand for the anthem if given an NFL gig

    Not on her watch.

  • And Kaepernick quoted Winston Churchill to shut down the rumor himself

    Touchdown.

  • La Canfora went back and clarified his report

Do you think Kaepernick will get a shot to play in the NFL again? Since his season-long kneeling during the anthem last year as a protest against racism and the police brutality of unarmed Black men, Kaepernick has yet to receive an offer from an NFL franchise.
