Trinidad James Slams Music Industry on "L.I.A.A.R.$."
Trinidad James isn't backing down from his comments about New York rap, he's putting the controversy to a beat.
After getting into a Twitter war with Maino yesterday (Nov. 13), James channeled his energy into "L.I.A.A.R.$" (aka "Lame$ Always$ Acting Real…$ure), a new track spawned by his claims that the South runs rap.
James premiered "L.I.A.A.R.$" with Atlanta's Streetz 94.5, and offers no apology for his viewpoint on the 3:48 second song. He opens by announcing "So I'm crazy? Yes I am" repeatedly as the beat builds to the hook ("They say I'm going crazy/ I know I'm going crazy/They say I'm going crazy… but I don't give a f---"), and kicks off the first verse by calling out Hot 97 radio personality Peter Rosenberg. "Rosenberg tried me/Almost hit him in the s---/God said 'spare him' now we best of friends," James raps.
From there, the Atlanta native takes aim at Power 105.1's Charlamagne tha God, warning, "Ain't no God for Charlamagne if he try me again."
Later, James laments himself a "prophet in the booth" and goes at the "f--- n---as," rhyming, "Just because I dap you, that don't mean we friends/ Never hold your tongue, get it off your chest/'Cause if you hold your tongue you gon' get depressed."
Unlike his anti-New York rant earlier in the week, "L.I.A.A.R.$." failed to inflame as much fury — at least from the people he name checked. Charlamagne called the Def Jame signee "two teeth James" on the radio this morning (Nov. 14), while Rosenberg took a different approach tweeting, "Tomorrow we got @TrinidadJamesGG calling into the show..should be interesting."
