Report: Chaka Khan Will Sing at Natalie Cole's Funeral

The singer will be laid to rest on Monday.

Funeral arrangements have been announced for Natalie Cole, who passed away on New Year's Eve of heart failure. Cole will be laid to rest near her mother, her father Nat King Cole and her siblings in Los Angeles, and will be given a send-off fit for an icon thanks to her dear friend Chaka Khan. Sources close to the family reveal that Khan is expected to sing at the funeral, sure to be attended by the luminaries of the music industry.
Indeed, Khan was among the first to express her condolences for Cole after she passed away:

According to Billboard, a spokesperson for the Cole family said the funeral will be held on January 11th at West Angeles Church of God and Christ, the church Cole attended for many years. After the service, Cole will be buried next to her parents and her sister and brother at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale.

Cole's legacy will live on with such R&B hits as “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love),” “Inseparable,” and “Unforgettable,” a virtual duet with her father which earned her a Grammy in 1992.
