'Y'all Going to Delete This or Nah,' Betsy DeVos' Dept. of Education Gets Roasted for Spelling W.E.B. Du Bois' Name Wrong
Here's the apology that made things even worse.
Of the many ways that we can describe how the Trump administration has been doing so far, none quite encapsulate the degree of mess that we've witnessed like the word sad. This word, although ancient in existence, hit a new stride thanks to the president's use of it at the end of his tweets.
The most recent sad attempt from the administration comes from the department headed by Betsy "I've never been to a public school" DeVos. On Sunday, the Department of Education Twitter tried to pay homage to Black scholar W.E.B. Du Bois — tried being the operative word.
The tweet successfully quoted the activist but unsuccessfully spelled his name correctly
Immediately, people noticed the error and called the department out
The mistake was so shocking to some because it could have been avoided by doing a quick google search

However, based on DeVos' performance during her confirmation hearings, an error so glaring is somewhat to be expected
Eventually, the department tweeted out an 'apology' that also included a spelling error
What have we learned? Either the department of education is trolling us so hard right now or education as we know it is doomed
