The live session began with a bunch of R&B classics. Bowlegged Lou of Full Force performed “Ain’t My Type of Hype” from House Party, before passing the mic to Deniece Williams, who performed “Free” and “Let’s Hear It For The Boy.” Howard Hewett of Shalamar wowed the crowd with “For The Lover In You” and “Second Time Around.” Ray Parker Jr. sang “A Woman Needs Love” before jumping into the Ghostbusters theme song with the party people in the house singing along.

The party went into overdrive when Cassidy invited Bobby Brown and Ricky Bell to take the mic. The New Edition members performed “Mr. Telephone Man” together before splitting off into solos, with Brown taking “My Prerogative” and Bell turning out “Poison.” El DeBarge then jumped in to sing “All This Love” and “I Like It" while playing the piano.

The impromptu open mic closed out with El Debarge on the keys along with Earth, Wind, and Fire's Verdine White on bass, and Philip Bailey on the mic singing “That’s the Way of the World,” “September,” and “Rhythm of the Night.”

Bailey gave props to DeBarge during the performance, telling him he was a fan and that he couldn’t believe they hadn’t met until that night, according to Page Six.
