A Film Based On Tamir Rice Is In The Works
Rice’s mother is playing a huge role in the film’s development.
A film chronicling the tragic death of 12-year-old Tamir Rice is currently in the works.
Samaria Rice, mother of the slain child, shares exclusive rights to the story along with Blue Angel Entertainment CEO, Korstiaan Vandiver and producer, Lionel Ntasano. She is also teaming up with Danielle Marshay Lee to pen the film’s script.
“I’m honored and very grateful to [Korstiaan and Danielle] for believing in me and this legacy for Tamir,” Rice explained in a statement to Shadow & Act.
Currently named, 12: The Tamir Rice Story, the film is set to depict the 2014 murder of Tamir Rice who was shot and killed after two Cleveland police officers, Timothy Loehmann and Frank Garmback, mistook his toy gun for a firearm.
