Deadass!: Drake And Pusha T’s Drama All Started Over A Hoodie 12 Years Ago
By now we’ve all heard “The Story of Adidon,” the jaw-dropping diss track Pusha-T released against Drake — if not, where have you been?
In the lyrics rapped over Jay-Z’s “The Story of O.J.” beat, Pusha alleges Drake has a son with a porn star and he’s neglecting his responsibilities.
As if that wasn’t a large enough bombshell, Pusha-T also put the Canadian rapper on blast for wearing “Blackface” in the past. Even going as far as using the photo for the track’s cover art.
Yeah, Pusha cut to the white meat, and it’s hard to believe it all started with a hoodie from a Japanese clothing brand.
Oh, you didn’t know? Here’s the story in brief.
According to Vulture, Clipse—the rapping brother duo featuring Pusha-T and No Malice—took offense to the Young Money founder wearing a brand they were rocking first.
Their response? Call Lil Wayne out on “Mr. Me Too,” according to Billboard:
"Yo, all these dudes, now they do the BAPE and coke rap… But before, that was us. We were the ones who started that."
When asked if he felt the lyrics were about him, Lil Wayne responded passionately in a Complex interview: “I don’t rap about no coke. He ain’t talking about me. I don’t rap about no coke. I’ve been rich since I was 14 years old—off of selling records.”
“That n**** [Pharrell] wore BAPE and y’all thought he was weird. I wore it and y’all thought it was hot. C’mon, man. C’mon now.”
Later in the interview he squashed the idea that there is even beef: “Alright. Stop coming at me about that bullsh*t man. That’s how you get beef started man.”
Unfortunately, that seems to be exactly what happened.
Fast forward to Drake joining the Young Money crew, back-and-forth diss tracks and unresolved beef.
Twelve years later, we’re at a point where the internet is exploding over the allegations of Drake’s deadbeat dad ways.
Things got completely out of hand and we are left speechless.
