You could say that the Odor hit Jose Bautista like POW!

Social media turned into a straight lituation Sunday upon the sight of Toronto Blue Jays slugger being punched right in the face by Texas Rangers second baseman Rougned Odor in Arlington. 

The explosive scene took place in the eighth inning when Bautista made a hard slide at Odor's legs on second base in an attempt to break up a double play. Odor didn't take to the move kindly and Bautista approached him looking like he was ready to shove him. Odor had other ideas, swinging and connecting a crushing right-hand punch.

To say that Bautista caught this fade would be an understatement. See it for yourself.

Good God Almighty. Now, that was a punch! Nobody could ever say that Joey Bats has a glass jaw, though. How in the world did he remain standing?

Umpires needed about 10 minutes to restore the peace after both teams' dugouts spilled onto the field. The Rangers wound up winning the game 7-6, but that was of course an afterthought to Odor's fist fireworks.

There has been no love lost between these squads ever since Bautista infamously flipped his bat during their ALCS divisional series Game 5 clincher last fall.

But even Joey Bats, who was previously hit by a pitch during the game, didn't see this punch coming. After the game, he tried to save face, likening the blow to a cheap shot.

"I was pretty surprised," Bautista told ESPN about the devastating right hand that Odor clocked him with. "I mean, obviously, that's the only reason that he got me, and he got me pretty good, so I have to give him that. It takes a little bit bigger man to knock me down."

That tough talk didn't stop social media from having a field day with the baseball-turned-boxing moment, though.

Toronto Raptors forward DeMarre Carroll offered his services in helping Joey Bats the next time there's a problem.

This might be the most scathing viral treatment of the punch, though.

Shaking our heads. The internet really has zero chill whatsoever.

It will be interesting to see if Major League Baseball hands Odor a stiff suspension.

But then again...perhaps Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Brandon McCarthy called it best.

Next time a brawl breaks out, Jose, you better stay woke, throw your hands up and defend yourself at all times.

Who knew baseball players had hands like that? Sheesh!
