Robin Thicke and Paula Patton Separate
Robin Thicke and Paula Patton have separated after nine years of marriage, the former couple confirm to People. The "Blurred Lines" singer and Baggage Claim star, who started dating as teenagers, have a three-year-old son, Julian Fuego Thicke.
"We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time," the singer and the actress said in a joint statement on Monday.
The pair, who were married in 2005, first met at an under-21 nightclub in Los Angeles when Thicke was 14 and Patton was 16. They have been together ever since. The couple never shied away from public displays of affection and adoration, with Thicke once proclaiming that he believed he and his wife had "loved each other for a few lives."
It's been a banner year for both Thicke and Patton. The singer scored the biggest hit of his career with "Blurred Lines" and was the subject of an attention-grabbing controversy following his performance with Miley Cyrus at the MTV Video Music Awards. Patton starred in the romantic comedy Baggage Claim and had a brief-but-memorable cameo in About Last Night.
