Brandy Recalls Her First Time on BET: 'It Was Everything'
It's been 35 years since BET first hit the airwaves with a revolutionary concept in programming: Black entertainment for the Black community. Over the years, the network has nurtured talent, been at the forefront of big issues and entertained generations of viewers of all races.
"I'm 30 years old, so BET has been around my entire life," said Eva Marcille when we asked her to recall her favorite moment from BET history. "Thirty-five years of saluting us as African-Americans is triumph enough."

Turns out, lots of celebrities have their own memories of BET over the years. Queen Latifah talks about watching Bobby Jones Gospel, Mack Wilds points out the antics at 106 & Park, and Brandy says it was singing on Video Soul that is her highlight. "I remember dreaming about having a video on BET," she tells us. "Singing on Video Soul... it was everything."
