Jim Jones Will Not Face Charges Following Altercation At Florida Airport
After a recent physical altercation at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Jim Jones will not face charges, TMZ reports.
On May 5 (Sunday), surveillance footage captured Jones taking on two men on an escalator. However, the incident started while deplaning.
James Dos Santos, who was a passenger on the plane, confronted Jones and pushed him in the chest, according to the police report.
Jones went on to say that Dos Santos' quickly apologized for putting his hands on him after Jones grabbed his arm and warned him.
Shortly thereafter, another man, Alexander Lekht, began yelling at Jones from another different seat. Per the report, law enforcement was called to the gate, but Jones “declined to report the incident and headed to baggage claim.”
Law enforcement said that Lekht attempted to antagonize Jones, trying to make him flinch with a sudden movement but the rapper ignored his actions.
As they approached the escalator, the report stated that Lekht made a "second jerk motion" at Jones who grabbed him until the police arrived on the scene.
In his statement, Jones said that Lekht then began throwing wild punches, and Dos Santos was swinging at him as well, which is revealed in the video.
James Jackson, a 94-year-old man, got caught in the middle of a scuffle and suffered a leg injury. He was transported to Broward General Hospital for leg pain.
During the entire ordeal, Jones maintained his innocence and said that he was defending himself from the two assailants.
"I was minding my business and defending myself. They got what they were looking for,” his statement read.
