Why President Barack Obama, Like Most of Us, Won’t Be Attending Nancy Reagan’s Funeral
Nancy Reagan will be laid to rest on Friday next to her husband Ronald Reagan, at the Presidential Library in California with droves of supporters attending to bid farewell.
President Obama, though?
He’ll be a Keynote Speaker at the South by Southwest conference in Austin, Texas, Friday. The POTUS will be interviewed by the Texas Tribune’s Evan Smith at an event, taking place at 2:30 p.m. in Dell Hall at the Long Center where the public will have the opportunity to participate by sending questions in advance. And we don’t blame him, because we would have made the same call too. That’s why we love our Black President.
First lady Michelle Obama seems to have picked the short straw at the Obama family dinner as she and Democratic presidential hopeful and former first lady Hillary Clinton — who said she would “drop off the trail briefly” — will both be among attendees paying respect to Nancy, who died at the age of 94 on Sunday.
