ICYMI: Taraji P. Henson happens to be slaying on the October issue of Marie Claire showing plenty of thigh and a directional ‘do. However, it seems like Taraji has taken a new stance on her natural hair journey — she’s taking a break from heat-styling for good! 

"I'm not straightening my hair again," she said in an Extra interview. "I wanted to take my curl pattern back."

Despite her love for wigs (especially when in character for Empire, Taraji underwent the big chop back in June. She’s been rocking the hell out of her short crop and experimenting with undercuts, designs and, we assume, a variety of natural hair products.

When asked about her big chop, her longtime hairstylist Tym Wallace previously told Refinery 29 the below:

“She was loving how her curls looked, and was like, 'If we're gonna cut it, we're gonna cut it all.' She's like, ' I trust you,'" he said. "She fell in love. She felt so free and liberated."
