Black Twitter Hilariously Trolled Kanye's TMZ Rant With #IfSlaveryWasAChoice
"Pulling up my 401k quarterly report to make sure massa matched my contribution."
On Tuesday, Kanye West offended Black people everywhere when he went off the rails at the TMZ offices said 400 years of slavery "sounds like a choice." Luckily, Black Twitter quickly swept in and turned poor Kanye's remark into a hilarious hashtag.
During his appearance on TMZ Live, the Chicago rapper talked about his recent Twitter presence and his support of Donald Trump, and then he said something that seemed crazy even coming from him.
“When you hear about slavery for 400 years — for 400 years? That sounds like a choice,” Kanye told the TMZ newsroom. “Like, you were there for 400 years and it’s all of y’all?
“It’s like we’re mentally imprisoned,” he added.
After Kanye's slavery comment became a headline, Black Twitter did what it does best and used humor to quell the situation
The hashtag #IfSlaveryWasAChoice was Twitter's answer to Kanye's remark
