Lil Wayne, Drake Release Tour App

YMCMB affiliates teamed up with Capcom for Street Fighter-influenced interactive promotion.

YMCMB affiliates Drake and Lil Wayne are gearing up to kick-off their first co-headlining tour at the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center on Friday (Aug. 8), but for fans who want to get involved beyond cheering in the stands: There is an app for that.

According to Billboard, Drizzy and Weezy‘s new Google Android and Apple iOS tour app, DvsLW, in conjunction with tour promoter Capcom, the video game publisher behind Street Fighter, will give fans the ultimate hands on experience for their battle rap style performances.

Each night, fans will select a city, pick their side — #TeamWeezy or #TeamDrake — and during the battle rap section of the concert, they can "power up" their winning rapper to "impact performance in real time."

"We are both thrilled that our fans will get the unique opportunity to join us in this interactive experience," Drake and Lil Wayne said in a statement about the iam8bit-created application.

Drizzy and Wayne are the latest celebs, behind One Direction and the Rolling Stones, to dabble in the emerging trend of tour apps.
