Box Office: Insurgent Surges to Top Spot
There are few things that are more of a sure bet at the box office than a young adult novel-turned-franchise. Insurgent, the latest film in the Divergent series, didn't fail to deliver, hauling in $54 million in its first weekend. The film, starring Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort, as well as Mekhi Phifer, Octavia Spencer and Zoe Kravitz, fell just short of Divergent's $54.6 million take last year.

Coming in at number two was Cinderella, which boasted $34.5 million in gross, while Liam Neeson's latest action thriller, Run All Night, in which Common co-stars, bested Sean Penn's The Gunman by a hair for third place. Run All Night's total came in at $5.1 million, while the Gunman fell short at $5 million.
Kingsman: The Secret Service, starring Colin Firth and Samuel L. Jackson, rounded out the top five with $4.6 million.
Next week, Kevin Hart and Will Ferrell's buddy comedy Get Hard will go up against Home, the animated film to which Rihanna lends her voice, for the top of the chart.
