Phaedra Parks 'Wants to Leave' Apollo Nida
Looks like Apollo Nida will be serving his eight-year prison sentence alone. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star, who was indicted for bank fraud and identity theft, likely won't have the support of his wife, Phaedra Parks, while he's behind bars.
According to In Touch Weekly, Parks decided she "wants to leave [her husband]" after he was convicted on July 8. "If they never started a family, she would have filed for divorce long ago," an insider says. "But this is going to push Phaedra to act quickly."
The couple, who have two young sons, married in 2009 just months after Nida was released from prison following a six-year sentence for car theft. It seems that Parks, who has so far not been affected legally by her husband's criminal activities, has had enough with his run-ins with the law. Parks, of course, is herself a high-powered lawyer and likely had an idea about how to keep her hands clean of her husband's affairs.
But it gets worse for Nida. The reality star, 35, has been ordered to pay $1.9 million in restitution to the victims of his fraudulent activities, reports TMZ. The beneficiaries of the restitution include JP Morgan Chase, Delta Airlines and the states of California, Texas and Georgia.
Nida's sentence was slashed from up to 30 years to under ten after he agreed to cooperate with investigators and revealed information on his cohorts relevant to their larger case.
