DMX is taking the gospel to the next level. X (born Earl Simmons) is set to perform at his church, Morning Star Sanctified Church in Glendale, Arizona for a “Gospel Rap Extravaganza” this weekend (March 6). 

Pastor  Barbara King confirmed to TMZ.com that Simmons, who’s been a member of Sanctified for the past eight months, and has been eager to help repair the church, has signed on to perform free of charge.

However, the facility housing the show intends to beef up security due to the uncertainty of the type of crowd X may bring out. Tickets for the “Gospel Rap Extravaganza” are going for $35-$40 a ticket.
