He’s unphased by his fame
“It’s not that I want to be nonchalant about it all. It’s just that I expected it,” noting that he’s been “rapping my whole life,” he said in an interview.
He added, “When I was 4 years old, my mom would be ironing money, and I’d be sitting on the bed rapping to whatever music video was being played on [BET’s] 106 & Park. When I was in middle school and high school, I was known for rapping and I was a likable person. I've always felt like I've had my fanbase.”
He faced life-changing hardships growing up
OT’s journey to rap stardom was no smooth ride. At just seven years old, he lost his mother in a drunk-driving accident, and his father spent time behind bars. OT also dealt with betrayal from his own family, and he’s even struggled with drug abuse.
He embraces his heritage in numerous ways
