His debut album, 'Lonestar Luchador,' is already out and well-received among listeners. Don't get left behind; familiarize yourself with That Mexican OT (Outta Texas) through these five facts.

  • He’s unphased by his fame

“It’s not that I want to be nonchalant about it all. It’s just that I expected it,” noting that he’s been “rapping my whole life,” he said in an interview.

He added,  “When I was 4 years old, my mom would be ironing money, and I’d be sitting on the bed rapping to whatever music video was being played on [BET’s] 106 & Park. When I was in middle school and high school, I was known for rapping and I was a likable person. I've always felt like I've had my fanbase.”

  • He faced life-changing hardships growing up

OT’s journey to rap stardom was no smooth ride. At just seven years old, he lost his mother in a drunk-driving accident, and his father spent time behind bars. OT also dealt with betrayal from his own family, and he’s even struggled with drug abuse.

  • He embraces his heritage in numerous ways

Songs like "Barrio" and "Hardest Ese Ever" beautifully showcase OT’s pride in his Tejano heritage.
