Tyra Banks Sues Wig Companies
Tyra Banks has filed a lawsuit against 10 separate wig companies because she claims that her name and image are being used to sell their products without her consent. According to TMZ.com, the former model turned mogul filed the suit in Los Angeles County and is requesting an injunction to stop the sale of these products infringing on her "name, photograph, image, and identity" as well as trademarks.
Several versions of Banks-inspired wigs are being sold and advertised with her name and photos on the companies' websites. The 39-year-old, who's known for her long locks and love for weaves and wigs, is seeking $10 million in damages because of her value. To prove this, TMZ.com reports that her 11-page IMDB profile was attached to the lawsuit as Exhibit A.
