Bad News For Fans Of The 'Bad Boys' Franchise

Martin Lawrence lays his opinion out bluntly.

Talks of the third installment of the Bad Boys franchise, made famous by Martin Lawrence and Will Smith, have been consistent for months now. After it seemed as the project was coming to life, its director walked and the reported release date was scrapped.

Now, Lawrence is speaking on the fate of the film and if it will be coming to fruition, at all.

"I don't think we're going to get one, not the way everything's turning out," he told Entertainment Weekly. "Will is off doing another movie, and I don't think it's going to happen."

Lawrence's disappointing take comes a year after Smith, who was recently cast as the Genie in Disney's upcoming live-action Aladdin, teased fans on the project's progression, saying it was "very, very, very close."

While the fate of the movie hangs in limbo, both stars seem to want to make it happen, with Lawrence adding, "I'm there, I'm ready right now," before clarifying that it's "the studio's decision" if the film is even made in the first place.
