Draymond Green Is Sick and Tired of Nicki Minaj Name-Dropping LeBron James in Her Songs

The Warriors' All-Star explains why it has gotten too "repetitive."

We get it. LeBron James is arguably the best basketball player on the planet with three NBA championships, three Finals' MVPs, four league MVPs and 13 All-Star Game selections to his name at 32 years old.

But is it really necessary to name-drop him in every song? That's what Draymond Green is asking Nicki Minaj.

Speaking on the latest episode of his Dray Day podcast, the Golden State Warriors' All- Star forward sounded sick and tired of the MC name-dropping King James yet again — this time on her new "No Frauds" song.

Minaj raps on the track, "they say numbers don't matter but when they discussin' the kings, they turn around and say LeBron ain't got six rings," referencing James's chase to match or outdo Michael Jordan's six championships.

Well, Green thinks Nicki should come up with some new rhyming points.

"Is Nicki Minaj gonna mention 'Bron in every song?" Green asked on the podcast. "Every song she's released since June 2016, there's something about LeBron in it. I mean, damn, like, LeBron is great, but Jesus Christ, at some point it just becomes ... too repetitive. Jesus Christ, you can’t mention 'Bron in every song you do."

Draymond ain't lying, either.

On DJ Khaled's "Do You Mind," she rapped, "Every baller tryna score, check them shot clocks, but I hit 'em with them 'Bron-Iguodala blocks," referencing King James's epic swat of Warriors forward Andre Iguodala's layup late in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.

On DJ Mustard's "Don't Hurt Me," Nicki rhymed, "Even if you was Curry, b****, there's still a LeBron But let's face it, I'm Curry, with rings like LeBron, added my rings up, that's Mike Jordan," emphasizing James's greatness over Steph Curry.

We wonder if Green voicing this opinion will put him in the crosshairs of Nicki's next track. Be careful what you ask for, Draymond!
