Will Smith Is Blue AF In First Live Action ‘Aladdin' Trailer, And Twitter Is Absolutely Terrified

“I wish I could mute an image.”

Grammys viewers received an unexpected treat during the telecast when the trailer for the highly anticipated live-action Aladdin aired during a commercial break.

While the mysterious clip left many in a trance, it was Will Smith's appearance as Genie that had many scratching their heads in confusion and clutching their pearls in terror.

On Sunday night, Smith, who announced back in October 2018 that he would be playing the iconic Disney role, lived up to his promise of being blue after being criticized for his look in the film's first promotional images.

He even took to Instagram after the trailer aired to stress that his blue look finally debuted, as promised:

  • Unfortunately, it appears as the response to his bold aesthetic in the forthcoming film didn't sit well with fans, who took to Twitter to express their discomfort when seeing the apparently polarizing new look.
