DMC Appointed to Board of Children's Foundation

The non-profit gives children access to celebs, athletes and inspirational figures.

The second part of hip hop group Run-DMC, Darryll McDaniels, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of The Garden of Dreams Foundation. The non-profit was founded in 2006 and works with Madison Square garden Company, the New York Knicks, the New York Rangers and Radio City Music Hall to give children access to celebrities, athletes and inspirational figures.

As part of the board, McDaniels will organize events with other children organizations including hospitals, foster programs, homeless shelters and "wish" organizations. In the past he's worked with the foundation for "Fuse Rocks the Classroom," the MSG Entertainment Show and Dream Week.

"I am thrilled to serve as a Board member for an organization that makes such a profound impact on children," McDaniels told AllHipHop.com in a statement. "I have participated in a few of their many events and have seen first-hand that Garden of Dreams gives children a chance to explore their dreams and exposes them to opportunities they would not experience anywhere else."
