Katherine Jackson: "I'm Fine!"
UPDATE: Nearly 24 hours after she was reported missing by her nephew, Katherine Jackson has reached out to police and confirms she is with family in Arizona. TMZ contacted law enforcement officials, who say the 82-year-old matriarch of the Jackson family is "fine and with a family member."
The sheriff's department is reportedly still speaking to members of the Jackson family to determine why she was reported as missing.
After Paris Jackson raised suspicion about her grandmother's whereabouts, her uncle Jermaine Jackson, who has maintained Katherine has been resting and recuperating in Arizona, tweeted earlier today that "no-one is being 'blocked' from speaking with Mother."
He added, "she is merely an 82-year-old woman following doctor's orders to rest-up and de-stress, away from phones and computers. Everyone has been well aware of this within the family, but I would like to reiterate my reassurance to the outside world that Mother is fine."
PREVIOUS: Katherine Jackson's attorney Sandra Ribera just released the following statement in regards to the conflicting information about her client's whereabouts:
"Concerned family members, particularly Michael's children, have since made ongoing pleas to those believed to have knowledge of her location for information regarding her whereabouts. The only reports provided have been both conflicting and confusing — especially those pertaining to the status of Katherine Jackson's health. When Michael's children last saw their grandmother on July 15, 2012, she was in great health physically as well as mentally."
She continued, "Prince, Paris, and Blanket are the light of Katherine Jackson's life, as she is to those children. Out of concern for Mrs. Jackson's well-being and in an effort to ensure her being safely reunited with her grandchildren as soon as possible, a report was filed on Saturday with the Sheriff's Department who will be investigating this matter."

According to TMZ.com, Katherine Jackson, 82, was reported missing late Saturday night. Her nephew Trent filed the report with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office after her grandchildren claimed they were unable to reach the mother of the late, great Michael Jackson for over a week, even as other family members claim she is not missing, but resting in Arizona on doctor's orders.
Early this morning, Michael Jackson's daughter, Paris Jackson tweeted, "yes, my grandmother is missing. i haven't spoken with her in a week i want her home now." She also added, "the same doctor that testified on behalf of dr murray saying my father was a drug addict (a lie) is caring for my grandmother... just saying."
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department issued a statement on Sunday morning: "Katherine Jackson is reportedly with family members. Late Saturday night, a different family member reported that he was unable to speak with her and is concerned for her well being. Deputies are continuing to make efforts to reach her and ask that she contact the Malibu / Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department."
Jermaine Jackson counters the claims by Paris, tweeting, "I want to reassure everyone (inc all sudden medical experts) that Mother is fine but is resting up in AZ on the orders of a doctor, not us."
"This is our mother and her health is paramount. We are not inventing or plotting anything. We are following doctor's advice. Period," he added.
Katherine Jackson's attorney, Sandra Ribera, claims the elder Mrs. Jackson left her Calabasas, California home on July 15 and flew to Albuquerque, New Mexico, with her daughter Rebbie Jackson to attend a Jackson brothers concert on July 17.
But when Paris reached out to Rebbie and Janet Jackson to speak to her grandmother in recent days, she was denied. "The kids were trying to get a hold of their grandmother and they haven't been able to reach her for almost a week," Ribera said. "They are told she's unavailable."
"I'm concerned that she's not safe," Ribera added, pointing out that Katherine Jackson has "never gone 24 hours without talking to her kids."
There has been recent strife in the Jackson family over Michael Jackson's estate and Paris Jackson's budding actor career. On Wednesday it was reported that five of Katherine Jackson's children — Jermaine, Janet, Rebbie, Randy and Tito — filed a letter claiming that she was being mistreated by the executioners of Jackson's will, and the stress has caused her a "mini-stroke."
It is unclear whether this is being treated as a missing person's case by the authorities.
We hope Katherine Jackson is safe and healthy. She and the Jackson family remain in our thoughts.
