Rob Base to Host New Year's Eve Memorial Concert for DJ E-Z Rock
Rob Base, one-half of one of hip hop's most famed rapper/DJ duos, is planning to kick off 2015 celebrating the life of his friend and collaborator Rodney "DJ E-Z Rock" Bryce.
The emcee has a special New Year's Eve show scheduled in Baldwin, NY, at the Coral House on Milburn Avenue.
“The concert is being held as a memorial and a tribute to my friend and a chance for loyal fans to remember him doing what he did best — making great music and keeping the fans happy,” Base said, according to HipHopWired.
Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock signed to Profile Records in 1987 after the release of their first single, "DJ Interview." They recorded two albums while there and rose to worldwide popularity with what's been considered the greatest hip hop single ever cut, "It Takes Two."
Bryce passed in April at the age of 46 after a battle with diabetes.
Doors open for the concert at 8 p.m. ET
