Here's What the White Men of Late Night Had to Say About a White Man Doing a Bad Job of Calling Out White Men Who Want to Kill Black People

Don't get your white guys mixed up.

The events in Charlottesville, Virginia over the weekend stunned the nation and really pointed out how much racism still exists in the United States.

  • Each of the major network late night guys responded in their own way. Jimmy Fallon decided to take a more somber approach. Know for being apolitical in his show, Fallon surprisingly slammed the president for his initial gaffe of not thoroughly condemning white supremacy in his speech, and then taking two days to correct it.

Jimmy Kimmel decided to poke fun during his monologue at Donald Trump for missing what was essentially a slam dunk in condemning Nazis and white supremacist hate groups.

And of course Stephen Colbert made fun of Trump in his own special way by explaining how easy it was to condemn a hate group and pointed out how a white nationalist website mentioned that the president didn’t specifically condemn them for one of their own’s actions.

One was killed with 19 more injured during the terror attack in Charlottesville, Virginia on Saturday (August 12). A “Unite the Right” rally was held in the city yesterday by white supremacists and nationalists with an aim of protesting the removal of a statue honoring Confederate General Robert E. Lee.

State police and the Virginia National Guard moved in on the park after Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe declared a state of emergency. The alt-right protest was also declared as an unlawful assembly.

James Alex Fields, Jr., a registered Republican, was booked in jail on suspicion of second-degree murder, according to the Washington Post. The 20-year-old is from Maumee, Ohio, outside of Toledo.
