CNN’s Chris Cuomo Makes Weird Remark While Reporting On How To Protect Yourself From Coronavirus

Another instance of odd advice from the news anchor.

In CNN’s non-stop coverage of the coronavirus on Thursday (March 13), anchor Chris Cuomo led a segment on how to avoid the coronavirus. When Dr. Sanjay Gupta, who is CNN’s Chief Medical Correspondent, stressed the importance of cleaning, Cuomo gave a rather strange response saying, "Go straight ethnic. Be cleaning everything all the time with the harshest cleaners that you can find."
Watch the clip below:

  • It’s not clear what Cuomo means by going “straight ethnic,” however, in case you are wondering, Chris Cuomo does identify as Italian-American with both of his parents being of Italian descent. And, perhaps he includes himself in the melting pot of ethnic bowls. Gupta, who is of Indian descent, said nothing, but looked rather stunned, in response to Cuomo’s question.

According to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University, at least 1,663 people in the United States are infected with the coronavirus. The number is more than likely higher but the Trump administration’s testing failures has limited medical professionals on the frontlines of the virus.
