Troy Davis: Will You Show Your Support?
Across the globe, anti-capital punishment activists and supporters of Troy Davis are rallying to prevent the execution of the 43-year-old death row inmate scheduled to lose his life tonight at 7 p.m. EST.
European legislators and activists are making a last-minute appeal to the state of Georgia to refrain from executing Davis, the convicted cop killer, and every minute, petitions continue to gather names of supporters from across the globe.
So far, nearly one million people have signed Amnesty International’s petition to stop Troy Davis’ execution, and nearly 100,000 have pledged their support through the NAACP to urge County District Attorney Larry Chisolm to petition the judge to withdraw the death warrant against Davis.
