Kanye West's DONDA Imprint Partners With Roc Nation
Kanye West's affiliation to The Roc now extends to DONDA, reports Miss Info. The design and content-based company named after Ye's late mother, Dr. Donda West, is partnering with Jay Z's Roc Nation to handle music-based aspects of the Windy City native's business dealings.
According to a press release on the Roc Nation website, the company will handle West's "international recording brand and worldwide touring ventures."
West's five-year-old creative hub has already clocked a bevy of big music projects involving the 36-year-old star and his rap connects. DONDA was behind the touring and design efforts of Jay and Ye's Watch the Throne collaboration, as well a short film accompanying G.O.O.D. Music's Cruel Summer album.
DONDA also helmed marketing and design concepts for West's Yeezus release and tour, as well as album packaging for the likes of Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz and Pusha T, among others.
In 2012, West reintroduced DONDA as a 22-division "design company which will galvanize amazing thinkers and put them in a creative space to bounce their dreams and ideas."
The "New Slaves" MC assembled a collective of graphic designers, directors, musicians, managers, publicists, social media experts, writers and other creative thinkers aimed at making a variance of products that people "want and can afford."
