Flavor Flav Felony Assault Case Heading to Trial
Flavor Flav will go to trial for pulling a knife on a 17-year-old. The former "Strange Love" star is accused of attacking the son of his girlfriend, Elizabeth Trujillo, leading a Las Vegas judge to rule Wednesday (April 10) that there is enough evidence to warrant a trial.
Flav, 54, born William Drayton, wasn't at yesterday's evidence hearing, but the teenager was on hand to testify that last October Flav chased him through the house — knife in hand — after an argument with Trujillo got out of control.
The son said that a verbal disagreement over Flav's alleged infidelity somehow turned physical, so he jumped in to protect his mother. He wrestled the petite New Yorker to the ground and put him in a headlock. Flav broke loose and gave chase (knife still in hand), threatening his life.
The Public Enemy hype man's attorney says he attacked the 6-foot-3-inch, 200-pound minor out of self-defense.
An arraignment date has been scheduled for April 18. Flav is looking at felony assault with a weapon and child endangerment charges.
If convicted, he faces up to 12 years.
