Pusha T Turned Down Watch the Throne

The VA rapper says the proposed track was too playful.

By now everyone knows the Kanye West and Jay-Z Watch the Throne collaboration to be a head banger. At the time of recording Pusha T says his G.O.O.D. Music boss asked him to jump on but he had doubts.

Speaking with Sneezemag.com, the Virginia rapper says when West asked him to spit on “N*ggas in Paris” he turned 'Ye down. The Clipse member says the track was “playful to me and I was in demonic rap mode. I was like, ‘Yo, I don’t want this right now,’ he was like, ‘Man, this will be a club smash,’ and I’m like, ‘Maybe, but don’t ask me to wrap my brain around that when I’m writing stuff like ‘My God'.”

Pusha T, 34, who says he doesn’t know Jay personally, explains, “I don’t know if I would’ve attacked it that way which means the record might not have been as special once I got on it.”

"N*ggas in Paris" peaked to #2 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts. Like West said, it's also a club hit.
