Florida A&M University Suspends Kappa Psi Psi Sorority After Hazing Incident

Florida A&M University suspends Kappa Psi Psi sorority after hazing incident. Pledges were made to stand in place for hours and were humiliated while performing impossible tasks.

Florida A&M University has suspended the Kappa Psi Psi sorority after the school was notified of another hazing incident that occurred off campus on Oct. 4.
According to the Tallahassee Democrat, a complaint filed on the newly created anti-hazing website stophazingatfamu.com revealed that pledges had to stand in place for hours and were humiliated while they performed impossible tasks.
The incident is being handled by the Tallahassee Police Department because it happened outside the school's premises, but FAMU police will aid in the investigation.

The school has been clamping down on hazing activities after the death of drum major Robert Champion last November, a result of hazing within the school's marching band. FAMU's anti-hazing site was launched this September and the university has placed three other student organizations on inactive status this year due to hazing allegations.
