Chris Rock Will Become The First Comedian To Perform Live On Netflix
Chris Rock is slated to make history as the first comedian to perform live on Netflix.
On Thursday (November 10), the streaming platform announced via a press release that the stand-up special is set to premiere worldwide early next year.
"Chris Rock is one of the most iconic and important comedic voices of our generation," Robbie Praw, Netflix's vice president of stand-up and comedy formats, said in the statement. "We're thrilled the entire world will be able to experience a live Chris Rock comedy event and be a part of Netflix history. This will be an unforgettable moment and we're so honored that Chris is carrying this torch."
The last pre-recorded comedy special Rock did for Netflix was 2018’s Chris Rock: Tamborine. The new live special will be the actor/comedian’s seventh overall with five others being recorded via HBO throughout the 1990s and 2000s, in addition to Tamborine.
