President Obama met with Myrlie Evers-Williams and her children on June 4 to commemorate the approaching 50th anniversary of the death of slain civil rights activist Medgar Evans. During the family's emotional visit to the Oval Office, they presented Obama with black and white portraits of Rosa Parks and Coretta Scott King with fellow civil rights widows Betty Shabazz and Myrlie Evers.
