Everyone’s Screaming Over How Accurate Baldwin’s Impersonation Of Trump Was
There’s a good reason Alec Baldwin won an Emmy for his Donald Trump depictions.
At it against last night (September 30) on Saturday Night Live for the cold open, the actor played out some pretty hilarious situations based on Trump’s own tweets from over the past week including his despicable calling out of San Juan mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz.
“Wow, that woman was so nasty,” Baldwin says after hanging up on a phone call with Cruz, who plead politely for federal assistance. While on the phone, Cruz informed Trump that “Tuesday, Wednesday at the latest” was far too long to wait for relief. His response?
“Well, you should have paid your bills,” he says. “Ma’am, I don’t know if you know this, but you are in an island, in the water. The ocean water, big ocean, with fishies and bubbles and turtles that bite. We want to help you, but we have to take care of America first.”
Alec Baldwin also sat Kate McKinnon, acting as Attorney General Jeff Sessions, on his lap and pledged his loyalty to her, while later stabbing Sessions in the back by asking for a closed-door meeting with Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer, played by Alex Moffat.
